General Manager: Group Branding and Marketing

The above vacancy exists within the SAMRO General Management Team and reports to the Chief Operations Officer. The purpose of the job is to develop and execute the brand and marketing strategic position and manage the full Marketing function. The ideal candidate will be someone who has completed an Honours Degree in Marketing. The candidate should have 5 years’ experience in a similar role. A Masters level qualification would be an advantage.  

Key performance areas include:

  • Group Brand Management;
  • Group Communication Management;
  • Budget and Project Management and
  • Market Research

Key responsibilities include:

  • Improve brand affinity and promotion of brand through partnerships and sponsorships;
  • Management of events;
  • Re-enforcement of brand messaging and positioning;
  • Design and implement the brand and marketing plan;
  • Design online/digital strategy (Social media and campaign management);
  • Create and implement a re-positioning plan for SAMRO events;
  • Create positive brand value, PR and communications across the SAMRO Group;
  • Create and implement Online and B2B marketing plan;
  • Internal and external newsletters;
  • Media liaison;
  • Budgeting;
  • Management of Group Sponsorship Program and
  • Quantify SAMRO brand and blue print essence

Minimum Requirements:

  • An Honours Degree in Marketing;
  • A Masters level qualification would be an advantage;
  • Computer literate with advanced Word and Excel and
  • Very good command of the English language both written and verbal.
