Communications & PR Specialist

The above vacancy exists within the Marketing and Communications department and reports to the Manager: Marketing & Communications. The purpose of the position is to oversee all communications and public relations initiatives for SAMRO by managing all internal and external communications with its diverse stakeholders to achieve mutual understanding and realise organisational goals around the brand, corporate image and reputation.

The ideal candidate will be someone who has successfully completed Grade 12 and has a degree or diploma in Public Relations and Communications or related field and has 3 years’ relevant experience.

Key Performance areas:

  • Develop and execute effective communication and public relations programs
  • Coordinating all communications and public relations activities
  • Build relationships with thought leaders to grow brand awareness and effectively position brand SAMRO in the industry
  • Develop the necessary communication tools to ensure brand usage and consistency - Brand guardian and custodian
  • Coordinate internal communication activities, interfacing with internal clients
  • Support the sponsorship, CSI and events strategy to leverage PR, communication and branding opportunities for SAMRO

Minimum requirements:

  • Matric
  • Degree or 3-year Diploma
  • 3years’ experience in PR, Communications and journalism
  • Basic computer skills
  • Excellentwritten and verbal communication skills
  • Relationship building and networking skills
  • Driver’s license
