Purpose of the Role
The Manager: Marketing and Communications will be responsible for leading and executing SAMRO’s marketing and communications strategy to enhance brand positioning, reputation, and stakeholder engagement. The role requires a dynamic professional with the ability to develop and implement strategic marketing and initiatives, manage internal and external communications, and drive key value propositions that align with evolving market and business needs. This is an opportunity to shape SAMRO’s marketing efforts while contributing to the organisation’s strategic growth and industry influence.
Key Responsibilities
● Develop, execute, and oversee the implementation of SAMRO’s integrated marketing and communications strategy.
● Manage public relations, internal and external communications, and marketing campaigns to strengthen SAMRO’s brand and industry presence.
● Drive stakeholder engagement initiatives to enhance relationships with members, licensees, and industry bodies.
● Oversee digital marketing, branding, and content strategies to ensure a consistent and compelling brand message.
● Provide strategic leadership to the marketing and communications team, ensuring high performance and professional development.
● Manage departmental budgets, ensuring cost-effective marketing initiatives and optimal return on investment.
● Ensure compliance with governance, regulatory requirements, and industry best practices in all marketing and communication activities.
● Support internal business units with marketing and communication strategies to drive awareness and engagement.
Minimum Requirements
● Bachelors Degree in Marketing, Communications, or Public Relations, or a related field.
● Minimum of 3 years of relevant middle management experience in Marketing and Communications.
● Strong experience in strategic marketing, branding, and public relations.
● Proven track record in stakeholder engagement, media relations, and sponsorship management.
● Proficient in digital marketing, media production (including podcast management), and social media platforms.
● Designing knowledge with proficiency in design tools such as Canva, Figma, Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign), Microsoft PowerPoint, and other relevant design tools.
● Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
● Strong project management skills with the ability to handle multiple initiatives simultaneously.
● Experience in financial and budget management within a marketing environment.
